This was built for a specific person.

It’s for you if:

You've been doing this work for years and have nothing on paper that proves it.

You're good with the children and unsure at the contract, the rate, the raise conversation.

You're moving into nannying from teaching, nursing, or years at home with your own — and you know the skills transfer, but you can't show it yet.

You want the credential exams, and you want to walk in having already worked through hundreds of practice questions written to the same standard.

It’s not for you if:

You want a certificate this weekend. This is fifty hours, and the portfolio is written by you, not filled in for you.

You want a state license. This is a Certificate of Completion from The Modern Nanny Co. — real, verifiable, and not a government credential. We're specific about that on purpose.

You want to be told the job is easy. Unit 3 is about the first sixty seconds of an emergency. Unit 8 is about federal employment law. It's not light reading.

What you walk away with

Three things you can hand to a family.

Six pieces of professional work, written by you.

Your resume. Your philosophy of care. A work-agreement checklist. A household emergency plan. A family communication packet. A three-year continuing-education plan. They aren’t worksheets — they’re built from what you write as you move through the units, and they print as a single professional file you bring to an interview.

The Professional Nanny Certification Companion, Volumes 1 and 2

The printed book set that goes with it.

The Professional Nanny Certification Companion, Volumes 1 and 2 — the full curriculum in print, $120 on its own, included with enrollment. Founding students get theirs shipped.

What $799 actually buys

8units · 55 lessons · ~50 hours
238knowledge checks — with the reasoning explained on every answer
2full-length practice exams — 75 questions, 75 minutes, built to the real credential-exam format
6portfolio deliverables — the ones above
Every clinical claim source-stamped — AAP, CDC, AHA, American Red Cross, WHO, NAEYC, Zero to Three, Harvard Center on the Developing Child, USDA Dietary Guidelines 2025–2030, IRS Publication 926, and the Fair Labor Standards Act
Mapped to the standards — INA Recommended Practices domains and the US National Nanny Standards, unit by unit

When the protocols change, the course changes. The October 2025 revision to pediatric choking response is already in Unit 3 — most training still teaches the old version.

An honest answer

Is $799 worth it?

That depends entirely on what you do with it, and I'd rather say so than pretend otherwise.

Here's the arithmetic I'd want if I were deciding. A nanny raise of one dollar an hour, on a forty-hour week, is roughly two thousand dollars a year. Unit 8 exists to make that conversation something you can actually have — with a rate benchmarked to your region, a work agreement you've read clause by clause, and the specific words to say when the answer is “let me think about it.” That's the whole case. Not a promise, a mechanism. Whether you use it is up to you.

What I won't tell you: that this guarantees you a job, a raise, or a placement. It doesn't, and anyone who says otherwise about any course is selling you something.

What I will tell you: fifty hours, 238 knowledge checks, two full-length practice exams, and six pieces of professional work with your name on them — plus a credential a family can verify in ten seconds. If you finish it, you will be more prepared than most people in this field, because most people in this field were never given anything to prepare with.

If that's not worth $799 to you right now, that's a reasonable conclusion, and you should keep your money. The free Starter Pack is genuinely useful and costs nothing.

The Founder
Portrait of Annita Jn Baptiste, Founder of The Modern Nanny Co.

A note from Annita.

I’ve spent more than twenty years as a professional nanny, and in that time I learned something the industry still hasn’t caught up to: caregiving is a profession, and the people doing it deserve a real path to grow in it. The training exists, but it’s scattered, hard to navigate, and rarely built around what the work is actually like.

My degree is in accounting, which is an odd background for this — and it’s exactly why the course looks the way it does. Structure, standards, and getting the details right are what separate a sitter from a professional. I built the Companion books that way, and I built this the same way. Whether you’re starting or you’ve been at this for fifteen years, you belong in this room.
